2012 Olympic Qualifying Standards announced by IAAF
April 16, 2011
The “A” entry standard for women’s 3000 meter steeplechase in 2012 Olympic Games at London, GBR, has been set at 9 minutes 43 seconds. Nations can enter up to three athletes meeting that standard plus one “reserve” athlete who has met the “B” standard of 9:48.

A nation without “A” qualifiers can enter one “B” standard woman and one “reserve” who has achieved the “B” standard.

The qualifying “window” for achieving the standard is from 1 May 2011 to 8 July 2012.

This Olympic qualifying information was announced by IAAF on Friday, 15 April 2011. As of that date the world-leading time this year on the IAAF list remains 9:50.68 by Sara Hall of USA.
