Steepler Frerichs leads team to national cross-country title.
February 4, 2017
Olympic steeple finalist Courtney Frerichs led Bowerman Track Club to a team championship in the senior (open) division of USATF 2017 national cross country meet on 4 Feb 2017 at Bend, Oregon.

At age 24 she was the youngest athlete among the top 10 finishers, enduring some altitude and near-freezing weather in this 10 kilometer race which she finished in 35:40.

Lets Run course description: "... undulating terrain with few flat portions. In addition to the hills, footing could be an issue. Oregon has been pelted with snow this winter"

Frerichs, whose 3000m steeple best time is 9:20.92, was the first finisher for Bowerman Track Club -- the winning team which included two other steeplers (Carrrie Dimoff and Julia Webb).

(The non-steepler team member is Emily Ptitt.).
